Charcoal Drawing

So much for posting each day! Better late than never I guess. This one was done as an example for a junior high lesson plan on non-representational art. I really enjoyed doing this one, even though it made a big mess. It was meant to be 1 of 4, that could later be placed together as a whole, but I am thinking I might not do the other 3. When I drew the original lines it marked the paper and they still show after erasing. I might just try doing another one on a different paper and using a softer pencil for my lines.

This is quite fun. I have found your blog and am glad I did. Sometimes it is difficult to find abstract drawings, but you have done a fine job with it here.

I will be back to explore more.

Your tutor must lavish praise on you based on this standard of work. So intriguing and wonderful use of tonal differences. As Kim says - I'll be back for more.

Hi Roshanda!

Thanks for visiting me. I enjoyed your art and other artists' blogs. When I was young, I had a little talent for it but without practice, I've lost it! I worked in a high school for fifteen years who employed a wonderful art teacher. He inspired his students to do wonderful things, even those who didn't have the natural ability. I applaud you.

Hey, and don't worry about posting often. I'm struggling to keep my blog alive, as many of us do. Just post when you "feel it", not because it's expected of you :o)

I love drawing faces. Not much of an abstract or comic forte. I will appreciate it if someone critiques my works.

Tata!
