Angry

Day 2, post 2. I am off to a good start! I drew this yesterday but I am not sure how I feel about it. This is the first time I have ever done the scribble thing. I usually spend hours finishing a drawing and I would like to be more lose in my drawings some times. It sort of feels like the scribbles are too messy and that they create a loss of detail. Feel free to comment on this.

I really like this, the technique could make a really interesting series!

What a great idea for freeing yourself from the rigors of having to get each line just so! I believe you could have even expressed anger a little more by using line a little more effectively, like darker lines for certain areas of face features, and thickness of scribbles, etc... Have your read the book Drawing with Imagination by Bert Dodson? It is fantastic for helping to free the artist within! Some of my pictures on my blog are ideas launched from reading his book. I can honestly say that of all the books I have read lately, this one is a true winner! And you would see that you are on the right track with your work. I love your piece and think I will try a portrait using scribbles!

Love the person's expression!

what a great doodle - I think you've inspired me to buy a cheap sketchbook and use it for this kind of work!

The way this face just fills the page, its expression, and the wild and crazy quality of the line all work together to make a really interesting and fun drawing.

by far, the most powerful face you've done. VanDyke was pretty good though.
